Permanent 3 way Cable Joints. The best method?

I want to join 3 x 2.5mm copper cables together without using a junction box (to avoid having a trap in the floor) I can solder. Is there a recommended method? I can use crimps but not happy with three wires in a Butt crimp. I realize all would be covered with a heat shrink sleeve and earth wires totally sleeved.

I would cover each splice with several layers of rubber electrical tape and then cover each with the heat-shink tubing to insure the tape did not come off as the years go by. Twist the wires together securely and rely on the solder only to form the electrical connection. Secure the cables with staples or clamps so that if later someone were to tug on a cable, it wont harm the splice.

Having said that…

Since you are using 2.5mm cable, you are not in the U.S. (as I am) but can say that here, it is required that any splice be located in a junction box and be accessable without having to remove any permanent part of a wall, ceiling or floor. Perhaps this is acceptable where you are.

Rather than a blind splice buried in the floor, is it possible to extend one of the lines to get to a box that feeds the line you are going to be tapping into? I know copper isnt cheap but it seems better than a splice in the line that cannot be reached or even known about by the next person who might work on the wiring.

PEX fittings pave the way for improvised plumbing

PEX (cross linked polyethylene) is material used in constructing entities used in water supply systems.
