how to fill void in wall after removing direct vent fireplace, how to isolate, is foam insulation OK?

I took a direct vent fireplace in the family room and have to remove the vent and fill the hole in the wall. What type of insulation should be used behind the plasterboard? Is it OK to just use foam insulation increasing the hole? I currently have fiberglass batt insulation wall
