Gal Concrete
Is it possible to delete a group and nitrates nitrtes w / out draining the pool. I have 35,000 gallons conc. the pool?
The pool is 7 years old, concrete, chlorine is usually good, but I am unable to raise the level of free chlorine. Tried chlorine shock and shock nonchlorine. Someone said to treat 10 gallons of bleach every week for 5 weeks. Please reply to glenvanistendal@comcast.net
First thought is the draining of the pool and start over. My second thought is the free chlorine is rapidly becoming combined chlorine, the guy who gives you bad smell and red eyes and not want. There are test kits that can discriminate free, combined and total chlorine levels. Try testing kits Technologies DPD Taylor. If you put in shock chlorine reading is unlikely, both chlorine and no chlorine levels with your test kit today. Taylor also makes a reagent DeOx to "eliminate" the effect of monopersulphate (MPS) oxidizer in its testing process. With the 12.5% liquid chlorine sodium hypochlorite solution of 1 ppm would be about 39 oz and 10gallons would be a little more than 30 ppm. Chlorine can be too if you're trying to prepare the combined chlorine. Chlorination 10x says the amount of free chlorine. If the 1 ppm of free chlorine is that it must bring the water to 10 ppm or 3.25 liters of SHC 12.5% of chlorine to convert it. Beware SHC which is high in pH and raise the pH of your pool during this process that may require action to re-establish the pH later. Add chlorine in the evening after the sun is off the pool pump Leave in the mixture. Cl Check next day to confirm the levels of 1-3 ppm swim when chlorine. If this fails, try again. I had to shock groups several times to remove excess chlorine combined. Finally, are you sure about the volume of your pool. 35,000 gallons is huge! Accordingly, the above information is based on the volume supplied.
