When installing a high-pressure sodium 250 watt bulb what else is needed?

I know you need a drag, but is otherwise necessary to connect to the mains supply?

Yes there is most needed. These lights are very hot. Do not install anywhere except for a accessory that displays for use with a 250W HID (High Intensity Discharge) lamp. There is some wiring also needed. For about $ 50.00 you can get Kit 250 W HPS ballast. This kit consists of a ballast, a starter, and a lighter. 3 They must be wired correctly, but the dose kit comes with a wiring diagram. Also the obligation of the lamp holder (socket) should be heavy – pulse – nominal. These cost about 10 to 15 dollars. But again, do not install a device that does is designed for this type of light – that is very warm. Good Luck
