I need information on the use of ultrasonic sensors to measure the distance. I also have to use PIC. help me?

The simple explanation: You ultrasoncic excite the transducer with a short pulse. At the same time, the pulse starts a timer. The transducer was changed from 'pass' to 'receive' mode. When the echo of the transmitted pulse is detected the timer goes off. The timer will contain an indication of the distance because the farther away the object (to measure) is, the longer it takes for the echo to return. Therefore more time on the timer means long distance. To calibrate the time you need to know the density of the medium. If you have 2 transducers, one may be used only as a transmitter, while the other can be used as a receiver. To use a PIC, you can have a pin I / O to produce a pulse of short duration (about 1 microsecond) and having another pin I / O be the receiver input. You need a signal conditioning equipment for both the transducer can transmit pulse logic level and to expand receive the echo received from the transducer. Or, external circuits are required to change modes of a single transducer to transmit to receive. Within the PIC that you will to create a counter which counts microseconds.
