Can I do a few small pieces of 2×4 regular adjustment?

I put in some replacement windows and the need to extend the jamb to level panels plaster so you can put the wraps around the window. Can I use a regular 2×4 to make these little pieces with the table saw, or a need for better quality pine?

If the 2 x 4 is clear and free of knots, checks, splits and undistorted, then you can probably make an extension of the 2 x 4. You will have to sand or other wise clean the saw marks on surfaces that are exposed Once the adjustment is in place.
