Hairline crack in the handle of a knife?

I have a small crack in the wooden handle of a hunting knife. It is very fine, where you can barely see, but I worry about getting bigger. Is there any way to stop the handle of the cracks, or repair the crack at all?

You could fix this the same way to fix a crack in the glass. To prevent further spread, drill a small hole in each end of the crack with a drill diameter slightly greater than the crack is wide. Fill the hole with a piece of wood glued (probably a round toothpick work), and cut even with the rest of the wood. TIP: wood stain to match the handle BEFORE you glue as the adhesive is likely to seal the wood and prevent the absorption of the stain. Take your time (it is really easy to do), and won `t have any problem. PS To keep your drive from cracking in the future, soak it in linseed oil, and let dry naturally.
