before calling a dealer, does anyone know how much is the ignition key?

my steering wheel locked and the key would not turn tried everything it known to man. calculated as the ignition key is held. I needed to know how much you know cost.i dealer will charge an arm and a leg. btw its a PT Cruiser 2001 as its the actual key or switch?

I suggest a competent locksmith. The PT Cruiser is on a sidebar and is prone to failure a cheap solution compared with transponder keys. Chrysler chips are not reusable, you must have a new one. Many keys on eBay are using chips rechipped age and can not be programmed. You can program a key Chrysler itself without two working keys.
