A Eheim 2227 Wet Dry Live Rock rubble-filled workplace? or will increase nitrate levels in the reef aquarium?
I'm beginning to 83 GL reef tank with a plenum in the bottom, a small Aquafuge CPR as shelter, 120 pounds of Live Rock, WattsMH lights 2×250, 4×65 Watts Actinics and 4 Moon Lights. I will 4 Koralia Powerheads 4 Ussing (1200 LPH) with a timer to create tubulence eaves intense. Now here comes the interesting part. I kind of jumped the gun before reading "Natural Reef Aquarium "and went and bought a Eheim 2227 Wet Dry filter cartridge. Now it is obsolete because it accumulates nitrates. So what I'm planning to do if filling the chambers of the 2227 Live Rock rubble and functioning in this way. What is your opinion? You are doing? Will it create more nitrates?
Yes, it's a great idea! I've done this many times before when setting up my clients systems in different filters and cartridge as Via Aqua Fluvals too.
